Breazeale Bridge Fellowship
About the Firm
With more than 70 attorneys, Breazeale is among the largest firms in Louisiana and one of the larger law firms in the South. Breazeale has an ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion. In furtherance of that commitment, the firm has established the Breazeale Bridge Fellowship to foster a new generation of lawyers who will enhance the diversity of our legal community.
About FMOL
Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System's (FMOL) is a leading healthcare innovator in Louisiana and Mississippi. As a nonprofit, mission-focused Catholic healthcare ministry, FMOL has given special attention to citizens who are most in need. FMOL carries out its mission by striving for equity and fairness in all relationships, as it has committed to providing care to the needy without seeking reimbursement—including those who are vulnerable due to lack of insurance coverage, citizenship status, health status, age, education level, and other factors that compromise their ability to obtain quality healthcare services.
About the Fellowship
The program will allow second-year law students an opportunity to spend the Fall semester as a Law Clerk in the Baton Rouge office of Breazeale and the Spring semester working in-house with the FMOL legal department. FMOL is committed to improving workforce diversity by increasing engagement with and reducing turnover rates for team members from historically underrepresented communities.
Eligibility
Second-year law students belonging to communities that have been historically underrepresented in the legal profession, e.g., racial/ethnic minorities, individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, and individuals living with disabilities are eligible for the Breazeale Bridge Fellowship. Students must demonstrate leadership qualities, experience, and community involvement.
