Brad Barback is a partner in the firm’s Baton Rouge office, where he focuses his practice on construction and complex commercial litigation. He represents owners, contractors, design professionals, insurers, and other industry stakeholders in construction-related disputes arising from industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects, including claims involving delay, defective work, scope disputes, payment issues, and catastrophic losses. Brad has significant experience litigating matters in state and federal courts and in domestic and international arbitrations, including high-stakes EPC and federal construction disputes.
Before attending law school, Brad worked for an industrial contractor developing and implementing project controls to plan, track, and report project costs and progress. He worked on large-scale industrial projects along the Mississippi River Industrial Corridor as well as off-site modular construction projects. Brad draws on this hands-on industry background to provide practical, business-focused counsel to clients throughout the lifecycle of a project—from dispute avoidance and risk management to litigation and arbitration when conflicts arise.
In addition to his construction practice, Brad handles a broad range of business, insurance, and casualty matters, including class action defense and coverage disputes. He has represented clients on both sides of the courtroom, an experience that informs his strategic approach to high-stakes litigation. Brad is known for his straightforward communication style, accessibility, and focus on cost-efficient strategies aligned with each client’s business objectives. He previously served as Chair of the Baton Rouge Bar Association’s Construction Section and remains actively involved in the construction law community.
