A list of a few Houston charities you can donate to

For those of you still looking to donate here are some Houston area charities you can donate to.

Texas Diaper Bank - This group is putting together relief kits for families with small children who will be in need of clean diapers and other basic necessities.

Corpus Christi's Driscoll Children's Hospital - Fully operational and serving many families along the coast.

SPCA of Texas - It's important not to forget the animals who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey. The SPCA of Texas is working to get animals transferred to fosters and shelters until they can either be reunited with their owners or adopted.

Portlight - This organization is helping provide medical equipment and assistive technology to those who had to evacuate as well as ensuring those with those medical needs are evacuated to safety.

Direct Relief USA - Provides prescription drugs and other medical supplies in emergency situations and works with doctors and clinics to ensure continuous care.

The Houston Coalition for the Homeless - We often think of people who evacuate as people who will have homes to return to (flooded or not), but it is important to also think of the homeless people who were also affected. This group facilitates shelter for the homeless and offering up-to-date information about shelters that have space and which shelter would be the best for each person's needs.

Trusted World - Operating three shelters for evacuees, and need donations, supplies (clean clothing, non-perishable food, toiletries, diapers, and baby formula), and volunteers to sort through donations.
