About CABL:
In the 1960s business leaders were concerned about the economic and political well-being of Louisiana. They lamented the fact that a century earlier Louisiana was one of the wealthiest states in the nation.

These leaders financed a study to develop what might be done, under proper leadership, to enhance our state to realize its potential and counteract averse trends.

On June 29, 1962 the founding board of directors for the Council for A Better Louisiana was formed.
