Breazeale Bridge Fellowship

Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P. (Breazeale) has an ongoing commitment to building a diverse team of attorneys who bring a wide range of knowledge and perspectives to our firm so that we can better serve our clients and the community. In furtherance of that commitment, we are proud to offer law students a unique opportunity to develop their legal skills through the Breazeale Bridge Fellowship. The Fellowship is designed for second-year (2L) law students with a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in their communities and/or the legal profession.

At Breazeale, we recognize the critical role law firms have in fostering a new generation of attorneys who will enhance the diversity and inclusivity of the legal profession. Our goal is to equip Breazeale Bridge Fellows with tools to become successful full-time attorneys by supplementing the academic semester with hands-on experience. The Fellowship gives 2L students an opportunity to spend the Fall semester as a Law Clerk in the Baton Rouge office of Breazeale and the Spring semester working in-house with a firm client—Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOL).

FMOL is a leading healthcare innovator in Louisiana and Mississippi. As a nonprofit, mission-focused Catholic healthcare ministry, FMOL has given special attention to citizens who are most in need. FMOL carries out its mission by striving for equity and fairness in all relationships, as it has committed to providing care to the needy without seeking reimbursement—including those who are vulnerable due to lack of insurance coverage, citizenship status, health status, age, education level, and other factors that compromise their ability to obtain quality healthcare services.
