Van Mayhall, Jr. will be one of the honorees at the Foundation of Historical Louisiana’s "34th Annual Preservation Awards". Mr. Mayhall serves as Commission Chair of the Downtown Development District. The Commission is being honored for its efforts and advocacy in creating a Third Street Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places earlier this year.

The Foundation for Historical Louisiana is Baton Rouge’s premiere historic preservation organization committed to the safeguarding of our state’s cultural and architectural heritage for generations to come. The Foundation, a member-based group, is also a Local Partner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Melissa Shirley has been selected to participate in the Baton Rouge Area Leadership program for 2011.

The Baton Rouge Area Leadership Program was founded as a program of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber to prepare a diverse group of professionals for leadership positions in the community. There are now over 700 graduates of the program, many of whom serve in leadership positions on boards, commissions, and hold both state and local public offices.

07/10 Lance J. Kinchen has been appointed to the Tax Law Advisory Commission of the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization for a three year term. The Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization was established in 1993 by the Louisiana Supreme Court to assist consumers in finding a lawyer who has demonstrated ability and experience in specialized fields of law.

Bursavich has successfully completed a project with the Louisiana Associations of Business & industry ("LABI") to clarify Louisiana statutory law regarding non-compete agreements, LSA-R.S. 22:23:931. Act No. 164 of the 2010 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature, effective August 15, 2010, amends the statute to guide the judiciary on the enforceability of non-compete agreements in Louisiana.
