Mr. Toups’s principal areas of practice include bank and real estate closings and all types of property matters, including sales, exchanges, mortgages, leases and servitude agreements and the examination of title and the issuance of title insurance policies, as an agent for Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation and First American Title Insurance Company.

He is also a board certified estate planning and administration attorney. His experience in this area includes estate planning, drafting wills and trusts and handling successions and succession litigation for over thirty years.

Representative Matters

Handled the purchase of a new industrial site of 1826 acres, including plantation and forty (40) out parcels, on the Mississippi River for a major chemical company.

Acted as state counsel for money center banks in connection with large loans for acquisition, construction, expansion and/or refinancing of chemical and industrial facilities for major industries and issued title insurance policies in connection therewith.

Handled the purchase and sale of shopping center and commercial properties.

Represented seller in sale of large historic retail building in the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Handles and defends title insurance claims for two major national title insurance companies.
