Scott Hensgens is the managing partner and practices in the Baton Rouge office of Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P.  Scott’s principal areas of practice include business and commercial litigation, contract litigation, consumer credit litigation, and trademark and copyright registration and litigation.  His experience includes representing individuals, small and large businesses, insurance companies, corporate shareholders, automobile dealerships, and credit reporting agencies.

Representative Matters

Represented insurance company in breach of contract dispute with former agent in which plaintiff demanded over $10 million in damages.

Represented a minority shareholder in an involuntary dissolution proceeding involving companies worth approximately $25 million.

Represented local credit reporting agency in Fair Credit Reporting Act claims asserted by consumers.

Represented automobile dealers in various types of lawsuits, ranging from redhibition claims to Fair Credit Reporting Act and Truth-in-Lending Act claims.

Represented a nationwide insurance company on numerous claims involving life, health and disability policies, during which time several claims have been disposed of on summary judgment.

Represented a nationwide distributor of heavy machinery in various redhibition actions in Louisiana and Texas.

Represented the inventor of corrosive-resistant piping in a patent infringement matter.
