Alan H . Goodman is a partner in the New Orleans office and practices in the areas of bankruptcy, including large chapter 11 cases, foreclosure, lender liability, and workouts representing lenders, other creditors, and large debtors; business litigation of all types, including trademarks, securities fraud, ESOPs, construction contracts, unfair trade practices, successions, property disputes, contract disputes, insurance coverage disputes, product liability, lien claims and others; and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate, leasing, and employee-employer disputes. Mr. Goodman’s professional activities include serving as an adjunct professor at Tulane University Law School from 1993-2005, serving as chairman and vice-chairman of various committees and subcommittees of the American Bar Association, being active in a leadership role in the Anti-Defamation League, and serving on a number of different local boards and various task forces and trade missions. Mr. Goodman, a native of New Orleans, graduated from an elite New Orleans high school (Newman High School) as the Second Honor Student and thereafter attended Tulane University on a basketball scholarship where he graduated cum laude in 1967. Mr. Goodman attended Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he graduated in 1970 after serving as the Articles Editor for the Georgetown Law Journal and being selected as "Best Editor" of the Law Journal. He served as a law clerk from 1970-1971 for the Honorable Charles Fahy on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. After that, Mr. Goodman worked as an associate at Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. until 1975, when he decided to return home to New Orleans. He worked at Lemle & Kelleher, L.L.P., where he practiced law from 1975-2012 when he joined Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P.
