Bernie Boudreaux’s principal areas of practice are in corporate representation, business negotiations, joint ventures and business dispute resolution.  He served as executive counsel to Governor M.J. Foster, Jr. from 2000 to 2004. During that time he successfully mediated or negotiated settlement of disputes between Harrah’s, Inc. and the New Orleans Restaurant and Hotel Association, Harrah’s, Inc. and the State of Louisiana, the New Orleans Saints and the State of Louisiana, and the three Louisiana Indian tribes and the State of Louisiana as to renewal of gaming compacts. Mr. Boudreaux successfully mediated the end of the forty-seven year old desegregation litigation between the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board, the United States Department of Justice and the NAACP after having been appointed mediator by U.S. District Judge John Brady. Mr. Boudreaux is a registered Louisiana Civil Mediator.

Admitted to practice before all Louisiana courts, United States District Courts in Louisiana, the United States Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Employment

District Attorney, 16th Judicial District of Louisiana, Parishes of Iberia, St. Martin and St. Mary for eighteen years, and as an assistant district attorney for fifteen years before that.  During that time he represented parish governing authorities and school boards, as well as hospital service districts and other public entities in those parishes.  He was city attorney for Franklin, Louisiana from 1968 to 1982.
