The State Bar of Texas is recruiting volunteers to help with legal needs. Out-of-state lawyers can practice law temporarily in the state of Texas due to a recently amended order of the Supreme Court of Texas. The Louisiana Civil Justice Center (LCJC) has activated its disaster legal hotline at 1-800-310-7029. The hotline provides legal advice and services for individuals residing in parishes affected by Hurricane Harvey, including Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis and Vermillion.
